EDITOR REVIEW: Your whole family will enjoy visiting this unique museum that spans a wide range of topics, from exhibits covering the social and economic conditions during Barnum's life to a 3/4" scale model of a five-ring circus and an Egyptian mummy donated by Barnum's second wife. Opened in 1893, the Barnum Museum showcases the life of P. T. Barnum. A native son of nearby Bethel, Barnum had a varied career that included politics, business and his involvement with the "Greatest Show on Earth." The museum includes family artifacts as well as a recreation of Barnum's library from his first Bridgeport mansion. Photographs, sculpture and art shed further light on Barnum's life and legacy.
