1. Beaver Meadow Audubon Center

Beaver Meadow is a fantastic natural preserve -- my thanks to the landowners who saw the heritage value when the beavers moved in & flooded their property by damming the little creek. Instead of seeing the beavers as pesky pests ruining their property values, they decided to share OUR natural heritage by opening their land to visitors. Now they provide education opportunities to inner city kids, as well as anyone else who's interested. They've done a wonderful job of staffing their facility with well-trained biologists to maintain the site in a way that allows them to carry on educational activities... not to mention preserving a treasured heritage.
