DOWNTOWN. This is truly a cool bookstore, with a pleasant atmosphere, yet not sterile like so many new bookstores. There are huge, comfortable areas in which to browse through magazines, books, and other reading items. Talking Leaves is also set in a great area for people watching.

Don't let the location throw you, for inside the store you feel as though you have stepped back in time to an era when personal service was the rule and not the exception. As for pedigree, Custom Hatter products have appeared in feature films like Dick Tracy, Batman, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

NB If you can, come Tuesday-Saturday as many vendors/tenants are closed or not there on Mondays.
