EDITOR REVIEW: DOWNTOWN. One of Burlington's (perhaps even Vermont's) oldest Japanese restaurants, Sakura seems an odd fit for downtown Burlington. In fact, its sleek exterior and Eastern-inspired minimalist interior pose an interesting contrast to the redbrick buildings that flank it. Still, many regard it as the place that introduced the town to raw fish, and the restaurant has carved a fine niche for itself in local culinary circles, serving up excellent offerings of sushi, sashimi, tempura, and sukiyaki. Patrons may saddle up to the authentic sushi bar at the rear or take a table that looks out over the Church Street Market.
