6. Smuggler's Inn

Devoted to serving terrific Alberta beef, this restaurant is an area favorite and has been for several decades. It's not as upscale as some of the other steakhouses, but it's a reliable institution that knows how to prepare a good steak. The specialty is roast prime rib of beef, and it comes in several juicy cuts. You'll also find lobster, ribs, pasta, and rotisserie chicken. Side dishes come separately, but each entree is accompanied by bread, soup, and a salad bar, so unless you just have to have a baked potato, chances are that you'll have plenty to eat. If the place happens to be busy (as it tends to be), you're welcome to have a drink in the lounge while you wait.   (© 10Best)

Excellent value with the prime rib. Must be there about 30 years with not much change in menu or decor, but still extremely popular, so must be doing something right at least for the boomers.

If I could rate this restaurant zero, I would. They cannot handle requests make 2 weeks in advance, serve lousy food that has to be sent back and management does not care about the quality of the food. Undercooked salmon and overcooked stringy chicken. Give this place a pass.
