In 1211, these grassy common grounds became home to the still popular Pot Fair, known today as the Midsummer Fair. The area is usually full of cows grazing leisurely in the grass. Today, this area has become a familiar site for numerous festivals, fireworks displays, and celebrations, including the Strawberry Fair festival in spring. It is pleasant to stroll along the river, watching the rowers and canal boats go up and down.
