This grassy space in the heart of the city centre is a pleasant place to sit with a sandwich or hotdog from the local stall. It is bordered by the bus station, Christ's College, Emmanuel Road and King Street. Year-round, visitors enjoy the colorful array of flowers that are strategically planted here. A rose garden was added in 1999 to commemorate the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. A playground for children as well as several hard tennis courts and a bowling green can be found here for those seeking recreational activity. The gardens are often used by people crossing from the historic city centre to the modern shopping area around the Grafton Centre.   (© 10Best)
