Hundreds of rows of marble crosses cover this meticulously manicured hillside, which spreads over 30.5 acres. This heartrending cemetery commemorates the 3812 American service men and women who lost their lives in Britain during World War II. A chapel sits on the premises at the back of a Wall of Remembrance that is scarred with names of the 5127 soldiers who have no grave.   (© 10Best)

Immaculately cared for, and deeply moving. Distinctively American, but understated and with a sense of genuine affection and loss. A place to reflect on the things that matter most. Glenn Miller's name is among those recorded here.
