*The* place to take afternoon tea and scones. The Orchard Tea Garden is such an institution that it is now listed in many guidebooks as an attraction in itself! Grantchester is a quintessential English village located a pleasant 20-minute walk from Cambridge over the meadows. The Orchard was first planted in 1868 and became a Tea Garden soon afterwards – going strong since then, it even boasts the poet Rupert Brooke among its early customers.
