The St Fagan's National History Museum, also known as the Museum of Welsh Life, is an open-air museum whose goal is to celebrate the culture and history of the Welsh people. In the 100 acres of parkland, visitors are whisked back nearly 2000 years to see a reconstructed Celtic settlement, then slowly walked through history to the present day. Exhibits seen along the way include a Victorian schoolroom, manor home, and pre-war grocery. There are regular special exhibitions and events. The museum is located four miles west of Cardiff city centre, in the grounds of St Fagans castle. There's a self-service tea room, restaurant and café.
