You can't miss the £67-million National Assembly for Wales, which towers over Cardiff's waterfront with a wavy roof. It was built according to state-of-the-art ecological principles and opened in 2007. The building also incorporates various unique examples of modern art, including a fibre optic 'Heart of Wales' in the debating chamber. You can visit the roof to peer down onto the
debating chamber through round windows, or sit in one of the public galleries and listen to debates. There is a cafe on-site.
