Housed in an historic stone building complete with compass tower, Woods Brasserie offers truly fine dining. The contemporary decor features pale woodwork, chrome stools, and an all-glass dining area that looks out over the bay. The menu offers items like free-range chicken, Aberdeen Angus beef, and sun-dried tomato risotto. Red, white, and sparkling wines are available. As you leave, note the ornamental stone dormers on the roof and the lovely copper weathervane of a ship being trailed by a school of fish. Sunday dinner is offered in the summer.

Not impressed
My boyfriend and I ate there last night - well, we ate a very small amount and have been ill ever since. The fish soup was absolutely disgusting and the camembert and cauliflower soup had no evidence of cauliflower, so was essentially a bowl of cheese sauce. The grey mullet was blackened and burnt and the fillet steak was adequate but vastly overpriced and accompanied by what appeared to be oven chips.
How this is in a top ten dining guide is beyond me. I can think of at least twenty other restaurants I would place above Woods.

Looks te part!
I find Woods a bit dull as its probably the best word to sum up my experience.
I would rather eat at a Sizzler pub as you get what you pay for. My bill came to £90.00 for 2, 3 courses and a bottle of wine. Now im not complaining about the price as i would happily pay that every time in an establishment that deilvers. However on every level Woods does not. I must admit i've experienced more atmosphere at a funeral and even there I would I would catch an odd smile.
If anybody is thinking of wasting there hard earned money then head for the Crown at white brook maybe a little more expensive but you get Michaelin star in return

I ate here once, and did not think very much of the place. Namely:
1) On arrival, there was no one there to greet us
2) I was out for a meal with my wife, they sat me next to a very noisy table of 10 people obviously out for a leaving do, when there were more intimate tables available.
3) The food was average, and the scallops I had for a starter were bad (Resulting in my being violently sick in the middle of the night)
4) The wine was not great
5) It was very expensive
All in all, I would avoid.
