5. House of Fraser

Situated on Cardiff's fashionable St. Mary's Street, this impressive department store was inaugurated by the well-known James Howell in 1856. The impressive store front (still bearing the original James Howell & Co signs) was once used when filming Doctor Who. The interior, complete with both Corinthian and Ionic columns and hardwood flooring, carries the usual House of Fraser designer clothes outlets as well as kitchen goods, stationery, luggage, and house wares.   (© 10Best)
