Located in the heart of Cathays Park and the Cardiff Civic Centre, the beautiful flowerbeds and trees found in this park provide foreground for photos of the City Hall complex. In the center of the gardens is the Welsh National War Memorial, which was constructed in 1928.

NORTH CARDIFF. This fifty-plus acre garden surrounding the Dyffryn House is situated just a few miles west of Cardiff Centre, near the small village of Nicholas. Dyffryn Gardens is comprised of a West Garden, Arboretum, Pompeian Garden, and many other smaller garden areas. Flowers are in bloom every season, complemented by beautiful, rolling lawns, a lake, and a picturesque stone manor house.

Constructed in honor of the third Marquess of Bute, this small garden contains topiaries, a statue sitting upon a stone pedestal emblazoned with a coat of arms, and clipped hedges around the perimeter. If you can, try and enjoy a peaceful lunch on one of the many benches found within the ornamental iron fence surrounding the Friary Gardens.

Gorsedd Gardens, which is situated in the Civic Centre near the National Museum, is one of Cardiff's most popular picnic locations. This peaceful garden was named after a ceremonial set of stones laid here to commemorate National Eisteddfod in 1899.
