Near Cardiff's northern border, you'll find a tranquil, 200-acre wooded area known as Cefn-Onn Country Park. A terrific place to spend the afternoon, the park offers brilliant beds of azaleas and rhododendrons, several small streams, and a few possible brushes with the local fauna.

Forest Farm, designated a county park in the early 1990s, is a beautiful expanse of parkland bordering the scenic Taff Gorge, northwest of Cardiff City Centre. Located near Castell Coch, the park lies on the banks of the River Taff, which slowly winds its way through acres of immaculate woodland, including a wildlife reserve. Guests are invited to take advantage of picnic areas, fishing, and hiking trails.

Only a twenty-minute walk from Cardiff City Centre, this 130-acre, two-mile long park boasts a recreational lake, pleasure garden, and botanical garden. Roath Lake is an ideal spot for bird watching and is the location for a memorial lighthouse dedicated to Captain Scott, the tragically famous South Pole explorer. Opened to visitors in 1894, Roath Park offers residents and tourists a peaceful, suburban respite from the busy city.
