This massive structure can be seen from anywhere in the city. The amazing structure of this 900-year-old building is complemented by the fascinating events that have occurred here throughout history. Hour-long guided tours take you through various chambers and dungeons. You will see prisoners' licking stones (used in attempts to get water) and authentic medieval doors, and learn about the people, such as Mary Queen of Scots, who resided here.
