9. The Citadel and West

Constructed as a means of defense during the 12th and 13th centuries, this unfinished stronghold is an imposing building that rests in the middle of town (just next to the train station). Until recent times, the county's courthouses were in the East Tower. The West Tower was once home to the criminal courts. A horde of coffeehouses and restaurants overlook the castle, which provides dramatic arches over the sidewalk.   (© 10Best)
