DOWNTOWN. A bequest by Cedar Falls poet James Hearst and his wife Meryl paved the way for this multi-faceted cultural center. Exhibits have featured Rembrandt and Picasso prints, Russian religious icons, and avant-garde postage stamps, and the sculpture garden is impressive. Ballet, modern dance, poetry readings and jazz and classical music performances are regularly scheduled, and there are several festivals during the spring and summer months. Child and adult classes, lectures and workshops cover such diverse topics as ceramics, photography, painting and 3-D multi-media.
