NORTH OF DOWNTOWN. This local racetrack is a popular weekend destination for Cedar Valley locals. The gates open Friday nights at 5:30pm, and racing runs from 6pm until 10pm. On Saturday the gates open at 1:30pm with racing commencing at 2pm. Saturday evenings are "all night street drags" that begin at 9pm and don't wrap up until the racers and spectators have had enough. Rock music blaring from overhead speakers keeps everyone's motors revving, even in between races.
