DOWNTOWN. This orchestra has been performing continually since 1923, making it one of the oldest symphony groups west of the Mississippi. Each year, its 82 musicians perform 32 classical, pops, chamber and youth concerts. In addition, its music education program is one of the largest in the country, serving over 600 students. Concerts are presented in the Paramount Theatre in downtown Cedar Rapids.
