 EDITOR REVIEW: DOWNTOWN. The Mills House occupies an enviable location in the heart of the Historic District. Its guests delight in well-furnished rooms, which feature demi-canopied bed, cable television, telephone, and dataport. Meeting rooms can accommodate 400 people, and a restaurant and bar are available on the premises. Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool with patio. 195 rooms and 19 suites. 
Prime. That's how we'd describe the location of this historic hotel. Smack-dab in the historic district, you can easily walk to the superb shopping and dining for which Charleston is so well known. We'll admit, the 215 rooms are a bit small, but the hotel's overall charm makes up for the lack of square footage. And a complete restoration spiffed up the overall feel, bringing in all new furniture, fixtures, and bathroom tiles to this property, which originally opened in 1853.
