DOWNTOWN.   Elegantly adorned with dark-wood detailing and washed by sunlight, this refined establishment is a perfect complement to the Market Pavilion's gracious hospitality. The restaurant's signature is USDA prime beef, perfectly and simply prepared. Kobe beef or tuna tartare are delectable, as is blue crab chowder. Steaks are terrific unadorned, or you can try one that boasts foie gras or roquefort and applewood bacon. Pork, veal, and lamb chops also please, as do delicious seafood dishes. Great French and American wines.   (© 10Best)

To start, the hostess could not find our reservation and was not appologetic about the wait. When I ordered my steak well done, the waiter stated they ususally don't cook them over medium and he wasn't sure how it would turn out. When he brought my steak it looked like a charcoal briquette, but I tried to keep an open mind so I tasted it. It tasted like it looked; I have never had a steak so burnt. I asked the waiter to take it back because there was no way I could eat it, and I didn't have time to order anything else. When he brought the check the steak was still on the bill, so I brought it to his attention. He said he would send the manager to see us. I explained the steak situation to the manager and he said it was not their policy to remove an item from the bill. After much complaining on my part and some from my husband, he finally conceded to remove the steak. While we were waiting for the revised check, an elderly gentleman at a table beside ours fell to the ground from his seat. Being a nurse, I went to check on him. I asked one of the restaurant staff to call 911 and do several other things for me. I waited with the gentleman and his family until the police and ambulance came. Both the police and EMS workers thanked me for assisting the gentleman, but not one of the restaurant staff or management did. And after all of that I went back to my table and had to pay for my meal. I will never return to or recommend Grill 225.

I would highly recommend Grill 225. It was the best dining experience ever. The service was spectacular, on top of everything. Wonderful food, with large portions. The family style vegetables were interesting, once again large. Be careful not to order too many!!! Definitely share. Wine list was impressive. Everything is a la carte, and a bit pricey. If I ever return to Charleston, SC, I would definitely make a point to return.
