CHARLESTON.   This casual-yet-upscale bar and restaurant offers a laid-back setting for enjoying a light evening snack or a full meal. Lighter fare is served during the day. In the evening, the first-rate kitchen staff serves up a seasonal menu of seafood, steaks and chops as well as appetizers, salads and desserts. Traditional American fare dominates the menu, but you'll also find that a few dishes have some West Virginian nuances thrown in for good measure.   (© 10Best)

Best in Charleston
I am from Virgina and travel to WV on business and BRB is the best in Charleston for the food, the atmosphere and the service. My only complaint would be the parking on busy nights.

I just moved to Charleston from Austin, Texas. I was told how "fantastic" Bridge Road Bistro is for food, drink, environment, experience. My experience was terrible. My wife and I sat at the bar and were ignored by the bartender. Instead he paid his attention to a post-fraternity group of business golf buddies at the other end of the bar who were making way too much noise for such an establishment. When our neighbor at the bar finally flagged down the bartender, we were rudely greeted and asked to hurry our orders (seriously). I am familiar with the type of establishment and the food they serve and the price they charge, but BRB was overpriced for the portion, the quality and especially the experience. I love to spend money on food if it and the service is excellent. The food and service at BRB wasn't just short of excellence but it was mediocre and unfriendly. If this is the top-notch Charleston has to offer, I should've re-considered my move. Luckily, we later had a great experience at a hole-in-the-wall bar downtown where our patronage seemed appreciated.

As the former chef from the Greenbrier Resort, Chef Wong does not let you down. He's as good as ever! The food just melts in your mouth.
