PINEVILLE.   The simple North Carolina home of President James K. Polk offers visitors a postcard view of life in the 19th century South. This quaint home is a good representation of life during that era. Exhibits lend insight into the life of a lesser-known American historical figure. Great place to visit What a great, and not to mention, free, place to visit. I never knew that the 11th President of the United States was born in Mecklenburg County. Wow!
