MYERS PARK.
Built in the late 1920s, these gardens offer a wealth of flowering varieties. The site of Wing Haven Gardens was once the property of Mr. and Mrs. Clarkston. Having been willed to a non-profit organization, the gardens were opened to the public. Also features a variety of rare and regional bird species. Guided tours available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

Okay, to preface I went just after the roses were finished blooming in the rose garden and there wasn't much there in bloom. There is a video that runs continuously that was interesting to watch about the gardens themselves. I love flower gardens, but this is more like a secret garden that has become a bit more over grown than the taylored gardens of France that I like. If you like that sort of thing then it's wonderful. My rating is tainted by the fact that I had to drag my 25 lb. baby around the garden on a hot day because the garden paths aren't big enough to fit a stroller through (unless it's a thin umbrella one). So if you have a baby, bring a sling or front (back) carrier! If you like secret gardens, this place is worth it! If you are a fan of Paris or Butchard Gardens (BC, Canada) (www.butchartgardens.com) then this small family garden will not match up. They don't allow you to wander aimlessly through the garden as I would like either. They have blocked off (with chains) a path for you to follow through the garden. Not sure if they are trying to protect the grass or not, but it made it less adventuresome.
