One of the city's biggest celebrations, Charlotte Shout, is held during the month of September and features a series of festivals, concerts, art exhibits and shows. Several major league sports teams, such as the NBA Bobcats and the NFL Panthers are based in Charlotte, making home games another major draw. Holidays are another good excuse for fanfare, and each year locals anticipate the beloved Carrousel Parade on Thanksgiving.
