ORANGE. Just east of Charlottesville on Highway 20 is the small Central Virginia town of Orange, home to the nation's only museum dedicated to fourth president, James Madison. This old, red-brick building boasts a unique collection that includes Madison's favorite chair, furniture odds and ends, personal papers, and paintings. The museum's Hall of Transportation & Agriculture is a tribute to Madison's prowess as an agrarian – legend has it that Thomas Jefferson often referred to Madison as the world's best farmer.
