The Buzz -- One of the Charlottesville area's most anticipated annual events, the Ash Lawn Opera Festival dates from the late 1970s. Its company has also been ranked by various publications as one of the nation's finest ensembles of outdoor performers. President James Madison's historic estate serves as the backdrop for the festivities, which take place on the grounds at the beautiful Boxwood Gardens. Picnickers and tailgaters are welcome beginning at 6pm.
