TREVILIANS.
A historic inn (dating from the 1730s) in a quiet rural area just outside of Charlottesville proper, the yellow, plantation-style Prospect Hill sits in stately elegance, surrounded by well-manicured grounds that feature an arboretum garden and quaint common areas. The hotel restaurant, highly acclaimed by both regional and national critics, enjoys a certain 18th century charm with its romantic, candle-lit tables and working fireplaces. The seasonal, four-course, prix fixe menu includes the likes of Cornish hen with wild mushroom stuffing and balsamic vinegar glaze. Guests are encouraged to arrive a half-hour early to participate in the complimentary wine tastings.

our favorite inn/restaurant
We have been staying at Prospect Hill for the past 12 years in a row and had dinner every night for a total of over 77 dinners and breakfasts and we are always amazed that Bill Sheehan and his staff always exceed our expectations and never fail to simply dazzle us with their special kind of genuine hospitality and wonderful food. We have NEVER been disappointed. Of course, we will be back many more times in the future. Scott and Lucille S, New Jersey.

Awesome! Wish I Stayed A Second Week
I'm from Maryland. A client of mine from Florida and I needed to spend several days together working through her online marketing program.
We elected to meet at Prospect Hill. They have wireless Internet, coffee in the room and serve both breakfast and dinner.
We were able to get a significant amount accomplished while feeling much more relaxed than if we had stayed in a hotel. It was quiet and relaxing.
It was a bit more expensive than staying at a hotel, but the investment was worth it. I've never gotten that much work done in a hotel. The hours I work with my clients is often much more limited in a hotel. It seems as though both my client and I are fatigued after having long hotel meetings. When we left Prospect hill we were refreshed.
We had enough time to take a break and go to both Monticello and Montpelier.
The food, staff and accommodations were magnificent. My client was impressed and can't stop talking about what a terrific time she had.
