10. The Corner

If you're looking to hang out with UVA's student contingent, the aptly-named Corner is the place to start. This row of 19th and early 20th century buildings is home to a slew of popular bars, coffee shops, book stores, and student-oriented boutiques that sell everything from the latest in music to candles, bead necklaces, and trendy apparel. Stalwarts like the College Inn and the Virginian serve up great – though not altogether healthy – grub. Meanwhile, a few surprises like Michael's have become trendy date spots for the well-heeled, and the late-night crowd tends to congregate at joints like O'Neill's, the Biltmore, the Greenskeeper, and the Buddhist Biker Bar.   (© 10Best)
