Accessible via Rockfish Gap (just off I-64), the 101-mile Shenandoah Valley leg of the Appalachian Trail leads hikers over soaring mountain peaks, past enchanting waterfalls, and through verdant forest areas that are home to a wide range of wildlife, including black bears and bald eagles. The Trail, which follows the Blue Ridge Parkway, has several access points as it passes through the valley.
