Located in a cluster of wineries just 15 minutes west of Charlottesville, Afton Mtn is one of the oldest wineries in the area. Great wines, including a sparkling Chardonnay/Pinot wine made in the traditional Champagne method. Just up the road from Veritas and Cardinal Point.

Spend a day wine tasting and munching on gourmet treats while these local guides pick you up at your location and bring you back tired, full and happy! They charge a per person fee that covers everything. $75 to $95 for half and full day tours.

A beautifully designed private winery just minutes from Charlottesville. Call for tasting appointment. Delicious wines made in a very clean style by winemaker Brad. Beautiful views and uncrowded and leisurely tasting experience.

Located about 15 minutes from Charlottesville off 29 south, it is a beautiful drive and just as you are wondering where the heck you are going, you burst out into a beautiful sight of terraced vineyards. Great for a picnic – beautiful landscaping and lovely wine tasting room and lovely wines.

Very pretty setting just about 10 minutes south of Charlottesville on 20 South. Beautiful winery with lots of tables inside and out for a picnic lunch. Wine dinners. Great wines. Good to taste on your way down to check out Scottsville on the James River.

When leaving Monticello, turn left and wind up the hill. You'll see a little stone building across from a church called Brix. Stop there and buy a picnic lunch. Then continue on to Jefferson Vineyards on your right. Lots of outside picnic tables, and wonderful wines. Tasting fee $1.

Just 10 minutes west of town on 64 is a cluster of wineries. This one is beautiful with tables inside and out for picnicing and wonderful classic wines. Lots of dinners and events. Pick up a picnic at Greenwood store on 250 and go enjoy! Great shopping too.
