LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN.
Pack your walking shoes if you want to See Rock City! A 4100-foot trail meanders among natural sandstone formations and passes a 90-foot waterfall. Not for the faint of heart, the 180-foot suspension bridge lets visitors get a bird's eye view of Chattanooga Valley. On a clear day, seven states (Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and of course, Tennessee) can be seen from the vantage at Lover's Leap. A gift shop and several snack bars are located along the trail, and there is a Mother Goose Village for the little ones.

Family Friendly Tourist Activity- Disapointing
If you can imagine the natural beauty of the rock formations as initially discovered by a Christian missionary in the region, then Rock City is a beautiful place. The "city" is more of a family friendly amusment park now with few of the wild qualities it had maintained for thousand of years. The 4100 foot "trail" is tiled the entire route, with staff walking along and sweeping any bits of dirt off the "trail" that might have accumulated. The formations are somthing you would want o walk slowly through to appreciate the natural beauty, but because of the amusment park atmosphere and the narrow trail it self you are often being pushed along by young children and families. We tried several times to allow people and familes to go around us but there was a constant flow of people. For the $45 price tag for two people, we were shoveled through the entire park in about an hour. The park seems more concerened with fairies and trolls then actually explaining how the formations themselves came to be and any history that might have occured here.
Overall, I would not recomend this attraction to my friends. I would have rated this at one star, but it is family friendly and really geared towards family with younger children. It was not what I expected; if I were to go again I would try going very early in the morning so as to possibly avoid the crowds and having to rush through.
