The Buzz -- Giasone will be performed by a professional opera company in Chicago for the first time . Giasone brings the myth of Jason and the Argonauts with bawdy humor, breaking all the operatic rules of the day . Conducted by Christian Curnyn one of the most heralded young opera conductors of today. The Guardian called his 2008 performance of Giasone one of “great panache,” and credited Curnyn with ensuring “that the sheer variety and power of Cavalli’s score comes across.” (Sung in Italian with English supertitles).
