4. Buddy Guy's Legends

SOUTH LOOP.   Attempts to appear seedy only partially veil this club's polished interior, and yuppies and tourists often show up. The mellow blues joint offers jam sessions on Monday nights, and local acts perform Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday, then, showcase national artists. A plethora of memorabilia fills the cavernous room, and pool tables and a Southern kitchen that's open till midnight keep patrons satisfied. Despite its touristy reputation, the club is a great place to see live blues in comfort.   (© 10Best)

Went to Buddy Guy's last Friday to see Guitar Shorty. The place was hot, cover expensive and the music so loud you have to wear ear plugs. I walked out after 5 minutes. No dance floor, a bunch of tourist sitting around like knots on a log who wouldn't even know the difference between blues and jazz. This was my second time there. I won't give them a third chance.

I very much enjoyed this blues club. The memorabilia in this club is well worth the trip. The food is Cajun and quite good and certainly the portions are large.
