3. Blue Chicago on Clark

I've been a Blues hound for 30 years, seeking out the best blues clubs around the country. The best clubs cater to the real blues fans, the ones that can't sit still when the blues are playing. They have low cover charge and dance floors up front where you can see and feel the vibes from the band. Unfortunately most Chicago blues clubs cater to tourists and have high cover and no dance floors so they can pack the house (like Buddy Guy's club). Blue Chicago at Ohio is the only one I've found with a dance floor up front and bands that encourage audience participation. Although the dance floor is tiny and gets packed with standing room only tourist early, it opens up after the second or third set. Go late and enjoy the real blues experience!
