RIVER NORTH.   This elegant restaurant specializes in Northern Indian cuisine and is known for its tandoori cooking. Clay ovens powered by mesquite wood cook not only breads but fish, chicken, and lamb to perfection. The unobtrusive, attentive staff and tasteful interior create an upscale dining experience. A lunch buffet adds value, and curries are also an earthy, delicious treat.   (© 10Best)

DISMAL SERVICE!!! Went in for the lunch buffet on a Sunday, and the buffet table was being cleared with 30mnts still left to closing!! We never got to taste most of the items as they dint care to replenish them. The place was almost being shutdown with 15mnts still remaining!!! I do understand that they have to clean up but not when the restaurant is still open and you have customers in there, and especially since it's a buffet. I would never go back to the place ... service was dismal.... If we had known it would be that way we wouldnt have gone in with 40mnts left to closing. We werent the only dissappointed customers there that day, there were 4 other occupied tables, and they dint seem too pleased either.

Horrible experience. I and a couple of my friends went to this restaurant last week. We ordered one of the rice dishes called Pulaav. I am from India, so I know what this dish is supposed to look like. The dish we got was just plain rice with a couple of green peas in it. It was definitely not Pulaav. Before I said anything, I discovered there was a dead worm in the rice. I immediately called the waiter and showed him and asked him to take back the order. By that time we were not at all in the mood to eat anything. The waiter saw the worm, apologized, and took back the dish. To our surprise, he came back in couple of minutes and told us that it was not a worm and just some yellow-colored rice. He brought the same rice that he took back except for the worm (yellow-colored rice). I was horrified to see how careless he was to give me back the same rice and claim that it was not a worm – even though he saw it with his own eyes before taking the plate back. I argued that I was not going to pay for anything, as we had hardly eaten anything considering the quality of the food. But the hotel management did not even listen to us and said that we had to pay for all the items we had ordered (including the rice). We were tired after a long day of sightseeing in Chicago and did not want to argue, so we left and paid the bill. It was a horrible experience that we are not able to forget. Please do not risk your health by going to this restaurant. I am going to contact the FDA to check this restaurant.
