Indian Garden at 247 E Ontario
This restaurant undoubtedly serves the most scrumptious food ever! It is indeed a treat for the taste buds! There is no other place that comes even close to recommending when it comes to Indian food! Each and every aspect of this restaurant has been well thought over! The minutest of details are taken care of! The dishes it seems are the perfect recipe put together, the drinks are just the right mix, the decor makes you feel like you're in Little exotic India and the people who serve you do it with a smile! Your day will be made if you find the owner walking around! Her personal attention and suggestions are a 'must have'!!!! Trust me people try it! That would make you realise how awesome a place this is!

My wife and I used to frequent this restaurant -- and I even went there for my bachelor party dinner before I got married. But in the past few years the quality of service has plummeted, the portions have become smaller and a lot more expensive, and the overall dining experience has been awful. At one point, we even saw the sauces from one table being re-used for another! Yrrch! We were so disgusted we wrote to the City of Chicago's health department (of course, this is Chicago, so we got no response whatsover). I would avoid this place at all costs; if you want great Indian food, go up to Devon Avenue or look elsewhere in the city. One of the great disappointments of my dining "career".

So glad we found it....a hidden gem. Service was very good, food was unbelievable. Eaten at alot of Indian Restaurants in different states in the 6 years we have been over from England and this ranks No.1 for us. We'll be back soon.

This is hands down the BEST Indian food I have found in the greater Chicago Area!! My husband and I come to this restaurant AT LEAST twice a month and are treated like royalty. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are referring to when they say that the service is bad because not only has everyone there been super nice and accomodating towards our requests but they are definitely on top of their game - it's an awesome restaurant - you can't go wrong with Indian Garden!

one of the best indian restaurants i've been to! i highly recommend everything on the menu. tastes like homemade indian food - if there is ever a restaurant to try indian food for the first time - this is your best bet. the only problem is that once you've had their food, you won't like any other indian restaurant in chicago. also ask for Imran to serve you - he's the one who knows it all!

I wanted to take my mom out for Mother's Day to someplace that would WOW her. I definitely found it at the Indian Garden on Ontario. I fell in love the minute I walked thru the door, between the aroma of spices and the authentic decor. We were truly delighted at the variety of dishes served on the buffet. My daughter's favorite was the mint chicken, saffron rice, and kulfi. I was delighted at the numerous vegetarian dishes, but was set on fire with the lamb vindaloo. It was just the right amount of heat and spice to satisfy anyone's taste. To end a perfect day, was to have a cup of Masala tea and gulab jumun. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

this place has excellent food. the service is brutal toward anyone not from the middle east. so go and enjoy the food but know that the service is very slow. we asked for nan as soon as we went to the buffet abd asked repeatedly throughout our meal and it finally came as we were leaving.
