New to Chitown, when I'm in search of the best pizza!
Need some one to take this rookie under their wing or wings and point me to the way to the Best parts of Chicago! Could it be this???''' Would love to know, we're new to the area, staying for the next 3 years!!

Not for out of towners
If you are accustomed to 'normal' pizza crust, the taste of Gino's East crust may not taste very good to you. The sauce and toppings(?) are delicious, but with the crust being there in every bite, it could leave you with a bad impression. It is a flaky, dry crust, heavier but similar to a cherry pie crust in taste. As others have said, if you order a pizza, bring a book, because even if you place your order immediately, you will be waiting a LONG time (think 45 minutes) for your pizza to get to you.

I took some friends from New York there to hopefully have them say Chicago has the best deep dish pizza but we were all greatly disappointed. The dough was dry and had no flavor, it tasted like flour and water, had little cheese and for being in a deep pan it took up very little of the pan in height. In an entire week Gino East pizza is the only thing that disappointed my N.Y. friends. They said this is not an Italian pizza.

Bring a marker or white out to write on the wall. Best Deep Dish in town.

This was by far the BEST pizza I've ever had. The ambiance was fun and exciting. It just seemed like the "in" place to be.
