149. Vic's Classic Italian Steakhouse

My husband and I enjoyed our evening out. Food and service were good. We were seated immediately (6:30pm on a Sat). We will return to dine again.

Seated for 30 minutes before any service whatsoever. Inital waitress barely knew what a wine list was, and wanted us to order drinks without seeing one. Second waiter seemed to have no food service experience. Bus staff kept trying to remove our meals as we were eating (happened about 4 times) and one of us ended up finishing their meal while a doggie bag was on the table. We had a reservation and were seated 20 minutes late. Hostess was smoking. Veal entree was good but the pasta entree was floating in water and bland. Lighting was poor and food was brought out on carts a la hospital room service. Meals were bagged and bill printed before dessert or coffee were even offered. Wine service very poor. Charged four dollars for salad dressing without warning or explanation. Food was brought before wine. Had to ask for a fork to eat entree with. Being forced to pay an 18% gratuity by using the certificate was painful. Have a second certificate that will be given away so we won't have to return or have to give a generous tip where none should be given.

Great place for a romantic evening out. Service was excellent and it made our anniversary dinner very special. The owner gave us a champagne toast with our appetizers. We didn't feel rushed even though the restaurant was crowded -- unique among places we've been recently.
