LINCOLN PARK.   Billed by many as the "King of Tapas," owner-chef Emilio Gervilla reigns supreme at his Spanish restaurant that serves up food fit for royalty. The baked goat cheese served with crispy garlic bread, the cannelloni stuffed with tuna, asparagus, and olives, and the tomato bread topped with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese are just a few of the delectable tapas that ensure Gervilla his kingship. The interior space features murals and walls with a faux stucco finish.   (© 10Best)

I was very. very disapointed in Emilios, mainly for the service and manner in which my party was treated. I ate there for the first time with a large party of 14 people for a birthday. At dinner (we ordered meals, not just Tapas), they gave my plate to the wrong person at the other end of my table. He asked the server he was sure if that was what he ordered, becuase it didnt look right, but they said "yes", so he ate it. I asked about mine and they kept saying "its coming up", finally after 10 minutes or so they brought me something and I said it was not what i ordered. The waiter looked at the other end of the table, saw that the server had given the wrong food to the wrong person and literally took the plate from in front of him and thrust it at me, and without a beat said "Youll have to pay for that"... I never even asked, but I was insulted. We tried to explain that we werent asking for a free meal, but they had obviously made a mistake and asked for something to make up for the error. The waiter came back and said that he had spoken to the manager and there was nothing they could (would?) do, despite thier obvious error. We agreed to "suck it up" and I finished what was left of my meal (with many apologies from the guy who ate half of mine- not his fault I say) Then after the difficulties they gave us, they had the audacity to try and charge us $3 per person to CUT the cake we had brought. That's $42 folks to cut a cake which we paid for. We were so shocked and insulted, they offered to let us cut our own cake, but we had to sign a legal waiver which they already "conveniently" prepared for us. When the bill came, which was nearly $500, we all felt very much like stiffing our rude waiter, but the gratuity of 18% was already added in. The worst part is, despite everything, the food that I did eat was not very good and was certainly not worth the money, the time, or the headache. Avoid this place unless you enjoy rude people and abuse.
