More about Chippewa Falls

First home to the Ojibwe Nation tribe, and surrounded by the lush region on the Chippewa River, Chippewa Falls was first settled in 1836. The first colonists built small cabins from which to hunt, fish and trap. Today, the charming town is home to business and manufacturing interests including the nationally recognized Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, Chippewa Springs Water and the Mason Shoe Company. Technology businesses are also a source of jobs and civic pride for the upper Midwestern town. The county hosts two music festivals each year and outdoor activities flourish along the river and in the town of Chippewa Falls. Open-air adventurers will find 33,000 acres of surrounding forest land, abundant trout streams and fishing lakes. For wintry excitement, the town boasts 300 miles of surrounding snowmobile trails and 450 outlying ice fishing spots. Residents celebrate the natural beauty of their home each year with a "Pure Water Festival" that features a parade and crafts show, softball tournaments and live entertainment.
