- Cincinnati is just wild about its zoo! The Cincinnati Zoo is the second oldest in the United States. Being called one of the finest, the zoo is home to over 6000 animals and includes an unparalleled feline collection.
- The 27th president of the USA, William Howard Taft, was born in Cincinnati. In fact, the house in which he was born is located at 2038 Auburn Avenue. The modest brick house, built in 1840, serves as a museum for Taft family memorabilia and mementos from Taft's political and legal careers.
- In addition to three US Presidents (Taft, Ulysses S Grant and Benjamin Harrison), Cincinnati has also produced several well-known celebrities from the entertainment industry: ballet dancer Suzanne Farrell, actresses Doris Day and Sarah Jessica Parker, and R&B group The Isley Brothers.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once described Cincinnati as the "Queen City of the West." Located in the southwest corner of Ohio, Cincinnati is separated from the South by just a river's width. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Cincinnati is much more Southern than other Ohio cities.
- A must see for movie maniacs, the city appears in many of your favorite films. Classics such as Rain Man, Traffic, and Seabiscuit have put Cincinnati in the spotlight.
- A trip to Paramount's Kings Island Theme Park is a must for all thrill seekers. The park lies just 24 miles north of Cincinnati and is home to the world's longest wooden roller coaster.
- Cincinnati originated as a river crossroads used by local Indian tribes. It wasn't until 1788 that the first settlers arrived from the East. Today, Bicentennial Commons, an outdoor recreation center, uses monuments to tell the story of Cincinnati as a river stop.
- You definitely won't go hungry in this town! Cincinnati-style chili is the regional dish, with over two million pounds consumed annually. Residents all have their own favorites, but with 140+ chili restaurants to choose from, you may have a hard time pinpointing yours!
- The Roebling Suspension Bridge connects Cincinnati with Kentucky and spans the Ohio River. The bridge was built by John A. Roebling who would later design the Brooklyn Bridge.
- The first greeting cards were printed by Cincinnati's own Gibson Greeting Card Company in 1850.
