Part of the 17,500-acre Clemson Experimental Forest, Lake Issaqueena and the forest surrounding it have long offered opportunities for escape and unwinding to students and those who love engaging the great outdoors. The lake, which is not open for boating, promises great bird-watching and fishing. The trails circling it and venturing into the forest, meanwhile, are popular with hikers and mountain bikers. Camping is not permitted in the Experimental Forest, and visitors are asked to be respectful of one another and any students who may be conducting projects or research in the forest.
