VERMILION. A breathtaking setting on the river is ample reward for making the drive from Cleveland to dine at Chez Francois. Even so, the incredible French cuisine tips the scales completely. The romantic ambience only enhances the seasonal menu, which includes roasted rack of lamb with tomato-herb crust, veal sweetbreads, seared filet of Atlantic salmon topped with a fresh horseradish crust, and grilled filet mignon with Stilton blue cheese. Guests can choose more formal indoor dining or patio dining, which provides incredible river views. New additions to the property are the Parisian Room which is a lounge and private party room, and Touché, a martini & wine bar located above the restaurant. Jackets required inside.

And that's just the beginning.... Adventurous diners should make it a point to see what the latest creations are. Amid the stainless steel and animal prints, you'll discover a fabulous meal. Just make sure to get your reservations early.

Luchita's is a modest-looking tavern, but once you enter, you're in for a pleasant surprise. An authentic Mexican experience is at hand, with chicken in rich mole sauce (chocolate is the secret ingredient) and several dishes made with cactus. The menu has a glossary to help when you're ordering, and you can also expect seasonal specialties and a good selection of beer and tequila.

The decor leaves something to be desired, but the amazing food will suitably placate at this terrific place. Inspired by a mixture of Asian cuisines, the resulting dishes are spicy and excellent. Textures range from crisp and crunchy to delicate and yielding. Seafood, chicken and beef are treated to zesty spices and complement the accompanying crepes and noodles. Bring some friends and sample a variety of dishes. Just make sure you've called ahead for reservations.

Near the museums of University Circle, Sergio's offers fantastic food in a sunny, friendly restaurant. The small dining room fills up quickly, as does the tropical garden patio in nice weather. The house specialty is Shrimp Baiana which is flashed in a hot pan with garlic, scallions, coconut milk and malaguetta pepper. Try a Caipiranha (the national drink of Brazil) or passion bubbles (sparkling wine made with passion fruit). An upbeat, delicious experience for lunch or dinner. Dress is business casual.
