DOWNTOWN. The smell and sight of homemade ice cream being churned out and then being placed into the hands of eager seekers will keep you in this place for hours. It's a fun retreat from the streets and is usually full of active kids whose families tag along in hopes of maybe grabbing a taste of that cone before it's gone.

DOWNTOWN. Voted by locals as the "Best Alternative to Starbucks," Pikes Perk is a two-level warehouse-type coffee lounge. Downstairs features a few scattered seats and great views of the street thanks to a huge window. Upstairs is an open room with more seating that is perfect for hanging out while snacking on pastries from downstairs, playing a game of chess, chatting over coffee, or working on your laptop.

OLD COLORADO CITY. There are several locations, but this one in particular was the first and original Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, opened on July 4, 1982. All chocolate is made on the premises, and then used to drench pineapple, marshmallows, and other treats. There is also an assortment of good fudge.
