DOWNTOWN.   First a synagogue, then an African-American night club, and now popular reception hall, the historic Big Apple is one of the most unique South Carolina attractions. Acclaimed as the place where a popular dance called the Big Apple was invented, the nightclub attained a great deal of fame across the country during the first half of the 20th century. Mainly used for weddings, receptions and special events now, the Big Apple also offers tours for groups over 10 upon request.   (© 10Best)
