EDITOR REVIEW: It is well worth the 50 mile drive southeast of Columbus to visit the Andersonville National Prisoner of War Museum. Camp Sumter, as it was known, was one of the largest Confederate prisons and was notorious for poor conditions and a high death rate. The museum has exhibits honoring POW's from the Revolutionary War through the Persian Gulf War. Location Map State Hwy 49, Andersonville, GA Larger Interactive Map » Show Nearby Businesses » |
