House of the Seven Goebels

You would never guess that this inn was constructed in 1977. An authentic reproduction of a 1780 Connecticut River Valley farmhouse, it has hand-split shaker roofing, rough-hewn cedar siding, and hand-made doors, reminiscent of those in Virginia's Williamsburg. A stay here is pleasant both inside -with full breakfast featuring specialties such as signature Belgian waffles, cozy fireplaces in the rooms, central air, and a wide selection of books- and outside on the stone patio and the two-acre garden.
