After a multi-million dollar renovation, this Marriott emerged with a swank, contemporary look that carries from its lobby to the lounge and into each of the 376 luxurious guest rooms and 32 spacious suites. In fair weather, you can sprawl in the sun at poolside on the roof, and enjoy the spectacular city view. Sophisticated dining can be had at the restaurant, while the lounge is as chic as any an urban hipster would frequent. Ask the concierge for suggestions on taking in the sites conveniently near the Capitol, and many shopping options. Take advantage of the fitness room, whirlpool and sauna.

You would never guess that this inn was constructed in 1977. An authentic reproduction of a 1780 Connecticut River Valley farmhouse, it has hand-split shaker roofing, rough-hewn cedar siding, and hand-made doors, reminiscent of those in Virginia's Williamsburg. A stay here is pleasant both inside -with full breakfast featuring specialties such as signature Belgian waffles, cozy fireplaces in the rooms, central air, and a wide selection of books- and outside on the stone patio and the two-acre garden.
